Job Description : Business Systems Analyst (BSA) - Requirements and Test Management Focus


Business Systems Analyst Responsibilities:

  • Manage requirements gathering, documentation of project artifacts (BRDs, Process Workflow, User Stories, Gap Analysis, As-is and future state documentation, etc)
  • Test Management - Test planning, Test Case writing, documentation of bugs, issue tracking with clear and detailed descriptions of, User Acceptance Test (UAT) planning and UAT test case writing
  • Leadership status update and maintaining of testing effort metrics and accomplishments
  • Function as a liaison between customers and development teams
  • Experience in both Agile / Waterfall methodologies and understanding of software development life cycle
  • Work with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, assess gaps and help determine effective solutions
  • Create specifications to align with customer business objectives, improving processes and enabling new solutions for customers
  • Define and maintain business roles, service-level agreements and processes
  • Assist with business process redesign and roadmap planning
  • End user training documents
  • System configurations and admin functionality documentation


Key Skills:

  • Use of metrics and advanced data analytics and spreadsheet skills
  • Excellent communication skills ( writing and presentation skills) is a must
  • Strong in Agile concepts with practical experience working in agile teams
  • Experience in coordinating with multiple stakeholders - IT and Business
  • Preparation and maintenance of Test Plans, Test Script Creation, Test Metrics, and Test closure reports
  • Detail oriented and articulate in documenting issues and bugs
  • Able to identify gaps and suggest process improvements
  • Expertise in test management - processes and concepts
  • Experience in HP ALM, JIRA, and Project management is a plus
  • Must be flexible work on ad hoc and different projects that come up in the team


Mid Level / Years of Experience (10 Years)  of relevant experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in a Business Systems Analyst Testing Management role. 
  • Additional experience in large system implementation projects, automation, and a technical background is a plus


Term: 12 months initially. Can be extended as needed.


Additional Requirements

  • Advanced level of spreadsheets, use of metrics and basic data analytics is a must
  • Demonstrated customer facing and excellent presentation skills  
  • Hands on experience putting together contracts / statement of work is a must
  • Detail oriented,  flexible and have a sense of urgency 
  • Excellent oral/written communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills
  • Experience with interacting with multiple levels of management 
  • Proven ability with organizational, prioritization, and multitasking skills
  • Self starter with ability to accept responsibility for projects and see them through to completion
  • Procurement/Finance/SAP/Software/Hardware experience is a plus

Systems and Tools: Google technology (Slides, Sheets, GSuit, Docs) is a plus. Otherwise proficient Microsoft experience (Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Word Doc)
